Heuer Super Autavia – Boxed, with papers and Fully Serviced

Hi all, I have here to offer for sale another excellent Heuer dashboard timer, the ultimate of the Heuer dash mounted pieces – the Super Autavia. A true chronograph that replaces a RallyMaster with one single timer, this piece combines a clock & stopwatch.
This example is the later version with a taller case & the Valjoux 5 movement – introduced in 1967. It is in fantastic condition with minimal marking to the case & backplate. The backplate sports its original Heuer backing sticker upon with the words “Super Autavia” can be made out quite clearly – the backplate is original to the watch, a real rarity! Also present are the original box, tag, warranty paperwork bearing the serial number, service sticker & even the original plastic protective bag.
The dial deserves a mention in its own right – it is perfect. Not a single mark, blemish, degraded tritium or area of fading. The original crystal was heavily scratched & crazed, so removing it to find a mint condition dial was a real surprise. The crystal has been replaced for a brand new old stock item. The hands unfortunately have not faired so well, with spotting & patina now present. These were left in original condition rather than strip & repaint. The crown & pushers are excellent.
The movement has been fully stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, rebuilt with the correct oil & calibrated – it works as per factory. See pictures of the rebuild below.
