Aa2 How To Install Mods
Use of another face mod after installing this, such as [AA2. Make][Face_mod][dryyourtears] may revert the face. Illusion wizzard installation ENG jinshi0k. Subscribe Subscribed Unsubscribe 231 231. Installing Illusion Wizzard and mods English version. AA2 Play mod - Duration: 8:19. Pastebin PRO Accounts. In 1986, the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at the Chernobyl power station. Soviet authorities established a 30km 'Exclusion Zone' around this nuclear wasteland, but in 2006 a second explosion rocked the stricken reactor, obliterating all living things and causing the Zone's boundaries to ripple outwards.
For the first month that AA2 Edit was released (May), people have been experimenting with mods/programs to improve the look of the game. However, you won’t find the majority talking about it anymore, and that’s for a reason.
This is the HD skin mod produced by Alexae. It is available in Hongfire, and it’s [almost] the same thing as the “realistic skin” mod (upov50m0349) that was uploaded in Uppervolta. The difference is that there are different lip textures packaged with them, though they aren’t really an essential part of the mod.
First thing, I never understood the appeal of HD textures and that’s probably because I just have a laptop which doesn’t have a high resolution. They may be nice but I put (significantly) higher priority on other features.
One reason why you don’t see me using it because it makes pale skin tones very saturated. The palest skin possible (without going for grey) doesn’t look pale enough, in my opinion.
Saturation/lightness values: 3/250 (left), 1/255 (right)
It does make skin more reddish. While you can adjust by simply going for yellowish shades, this means that any card that you download from someone who doesn’t use this mod will turn out to have redder skin than intended unless you manually edit the skin values yourself.
This is one of the first mods that tried to address the “AA2 girls don’t have lips” problem. Though, it keeps visible lips at 0% lipstick opacity which eliminates certain character creation options. Sure, if all the characters you use have visible lips, then this shouldn’t be a problem.
This mod demonstrates the concept of how anime and realistic style don’t mix well. The face texture is a good example of this: it tries to put makeup (or contours) of a real person on a face mesh of an anime character. Make up application is supposed to adjust according someone’s face shape, and so you can’t basically have the same stuff for a 2D and a 3D girl.
Blooper: This is when I have the wrong “jg2p_00_01_00_02.lst”.
This is JG2照明セットDX (JG2 lighting set) produced by an anon in 2chan. In /aa2g/, this is also known as the UV lighting mod though you may want to look for “sq64776” if you want to check out the additional versions.
I’ll take the most generic version for this case. Given the nature of lighting files, I’ll show only the lighting used during morning conversation. That’s the majority of the time you’ll play the game, right?
I find lighting mods great when they are meant to complement the environment of the game. Given that lighting mods solely affect the 3D characters and the 2D backgrounds they stand against are left as is, this makes it seem like a skin mod.
The mod shown above (note that you can have lighting mods without the above effect) makes the character look desaturated. It changes the lighting direction, which gives shadows on where they weren’t present. These shadows don’t add unnecessary contours, so the output doesn’t look bad.
If you’re wondering how modified lighting works with HD skin, here it is
I am not a fan of the shading since it’s too grey and it makes her look like a doll. Though, its most obvious flaw is when you consider that it gives emphasis on meshes that generally don’t look good, like the hands. You might say the hand mesh is decent enough, so I’ll go for the feet.
Aa2 Guide
From a certain angle, the feet look like you have toeless socks worn over them
Personally, I thought that these mods are produced with the brown girls in mind, since they don’t look that awful with dark skin tones.
As you can see below, you get a different shade of brown for every aforementioned mod that you use.
I am not from a place which describes skin as “ashy” so I don’t know what it means, though I can get where people are coming from. I mean, look at the rightmost picture. The contours were significantly sharper and the skin seemed dried. It makes the body (set to thin as shown above) thinner.
This is pretty much unheard of in the English community because this requires the use of d3d9.dll, which is necessary for the subtitle overlay mod. While I am someone who can pick up spoken Japanese, there’s a huge chance that I will need subtitles for modded personalities whose voiced line don’t reflect the action that they initiate.
I went looking for a guide that lets me know the “standard” setting ENB users have, and it led me to a blog that discusses different options. As of this writing, it suddenly got password-protected.
I am not entirely sure whether or not I am following his guide correctly so I just gave up.
One reason that I don’t use this “mod” shows in the 3rd image, which looks like crap as the bloom drowns pale-skinned characters in white and makes my anti-aliasing (16xQ CSAA) look worse. I wasn’t fond of ENB + SweetFX in AA1 either.
The last time I attempted using ENB + SweetFX on AA2, I recall it showing completely different things in Maker and in Play.
I played around with the settings while using AA2Edit to preview them, though apparently, it didn’t do shit when used in AA2 Play.
Rightmost picture has the ENB’s original settings with bloom disabled. As you can see, it looks more saturated in Play than in the Maker. In general, bloom has a stronger effect in Play (that’s not a result of the game’s lighting, because Play’s clothing editor and Maker just use the same files).
For the next 2 images:
- First column is vanilla.
- Second column is HD skin with ENB/SweetFX on.
- Third column is lighting mod with ENB/SweetFX on.
- Fourth column is HD skin + lighting mod with ENB/SweetFX on.
All of the ENB settings shown have bloom on.
Looking back, I thought that the third setting has that feathery coloring which looks nice. The only problem is that this won’t look the exact same thing when I use Play.
… as I’ve thought.
Verdict: Vanilla is still my personal choice for the below reasons:
- It doesn’t restrict my skin color options
- It doesn’t make my laptop’s specs look crappier than it already is.
You will pick up what to do with these settings when you play other 3D games i.e. these aren’t something unique to AA2. There’s a paste somewhere that talks about the essential stuff, and this only tackles about the arbitrary ones.
A. Outlines
Above was the last time that I didn’t have outlines. I couldn’t remember when I took them off and and when I put them back, though I liked my screenshots with outlines better.
That’s even if I had a laptop can only support 4x anti-aliasing in AA1/AA2, and when Teatime’s option to have Love Death Final at 8x AA was considered as a luxury.
I always went with outlines on, because I was too bugged with the eyebrows having outlines even with the off setting.
From an artistic point of view, when was the last time you saw anime without outlines? One thing when it’s objectively fine not to have them when you are going for realistic style (since real life people don’t have outlines), with heavy skin details and everything. However, as you may have seen in the previous images, such style doesn’t work with AA2.
Note that I say this as someone who finds the Real Play/Play Club models to look nice. I would play those actually if they didn’t have shovelware-tier seiyuu (cough).
B. Blur
When I took this off in AA2, I mistook it to be the same as AA1’s bloom effect, which I got rid of since I don’t want my characters to be glowing. Apparently, only AA1 Play has this setting which I don’t have installed so I can’t show an example.
Nonetheless, I never found a reason to use it so I left it off.
C. Rim lighting
When I had 4x AA, I left it off since I thought that it makes the jaggies look worse.
Now that I have 16x AA, I keep it on even when I could still turn it off for the “jaggies” reason. I personally thought that rim lighting makes the model look more 2D… and I don’t know, it looks fine in this game?

- 2) Installation instructions
- > Install HF pAppLoc: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=329
- You'll need Japanese locale to run most Japanese games, including Artificial Academy 2. This is the easiest way to set it up, no need to play with Windows settings or anything.
- If you're on Windows 10 go back to 7 or 8.1. Or if you insist on being a massive faggot give NTLEA a try: https://ntlea.codeplex.com/
- > Get the Virgin Edition: http://sukebei.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=1751562
- This is only the Japanese game with DLCs, official patches and shit, NO TRANSLATION OR CRACK YET, playing it would require the game's DVD-ROM.
- Just drop the 'aa2game' and 'aa2make' folders wherever you want to install. Running the .reg file isn't necessary, this is taken care of in the next step.
- > Apply the HongFire patch: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/432983
- This is the crack, launchers, translation, uncensor, cheats, missing append sets and patches, etc.
- For best result choose the HF translation and the HD R15 user interface with /hgg/ personality names.
- And that's it for the full vanilla experience.
- Just remember to launch the game using the shortcuts created by the HF patch, or by right-clicking the executable and choosing 'Run with Japanese locale'
- Yes, those are big downloads. You may need up to 30 GBs of hard drive space for a modded install, suck it up.
- No, this game won't work with Wine on Linux, just give up. Play in a VM or dual-boot.

- > HEXA asset compilations
- Hair Pack: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/432840
- Clothing Collection: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/437636
- Override Collection: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/437636
- Those are three must-have compilations of extra assets made by various modders, if you download characters from the database they'll almost certainly require something from these packs. Hair Pack and Clothing Collection are exactly what's written on the tin. The Override Collection contains assets that aren't available in the editor and require ReiEdit to apply them. Clothing Collection has a standalone installer for easier and faster installation. For the Clothing Collection there are two versions with different uncensor mods applied to them: EX2 (2D) and MK-III (3D). MK-III is the HF Patch default.
- As the name suggests, this adds new cumming positions, allows cumming from all sex positions and by default unlocks all positions so you don't have to raise H compatibility (there's a patch included if you prefer vanilla H.) There's also a small patch to fix some issues here: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/436836
- There is now an HEXA Personality Pack for all previously released personalities: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/452200
- They use the same slots as older releases, but you should still remove any previously installed presonality before installing HEXAPP.
- Note that the Bekloppt and Salamanderman male personalities are currently missing from the pack (but who plays with male persos anyway?) If you want them they're available in Arukādo's personality pack here: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/437718
- The AA1 Empress variant in HEXAPP is the one from Hongfire with AA1 poses, it's essentially the same as /aa2g/'s older Empress port. If you want to use AA2 poses instead get the Redux version from here and install on top of HEXAPP: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/433426. If you still want the /aa2g/ version it's available here: CcVFgIba!RBJG_ON924MSTjGnx-MoLqJgIYBD8eHQ2a_DVmNg2uI
- Also this pack uses the original animated poses for AA1 personalities. If you prefer static poses (more similar to AA2's poses) install this after HEXAPP: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ezaaeg2on46cfsa/%5BAA2%5D%5BMisc%5D%5BEnable+AA1+low-poly+poses%2C+static%5D%5Bv1.0%5D.7z
- And don't forget to install the included HD R15 and NO-DIM patches if you use those, as well as the ReiEdit .xml files.
- A mod that changes the way dialogue works: instead of having the screen fade to black before characters say their line, you actually see them talking. There are two necessary parts, the audio files and dialogue files. The dialogue files come with Mitsumeru List, a mod that modifies a bunch of things related to dialogue like poses and camera angles. There were reduced variants with fewer Mitsumeru features and a clean variant almost everything removed. The forum links for the reduced variants are dead, unfortunately, so only the complete and clean versions remain.
- Audio files: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4772k815l9ajs64/%5BAA2%5D%5BDialogue%5D%5BNo+dim+mod+audio+files%5D%5Bv1.1%5D%5BUV%5D.7z
- Dialogue files, Original Mitsumeru: http://www.mediafire.com/download/e9yd9cujv1ff6b9/%5BAA2%5D%5BDialogue%5D%5BMML+for+ND+v1.1%5D%5Bv1.4B%5D%5BJS3F%2CUV%5D.7z
- Dialogue files, clean variant: http://www.mediafire.com/download/wao9a2bi7adhumc/%5BAA2%5D%5BDialogue%5D%5BML-Clean+for+AK+v1.1%5D%5Bv1.5A%5D%5BJS3F%2CUV%5D.7z
- Of course Mitsumeru is also available without NO-DIM. Don't attempt to install them separately, it won't end well.

- MODDING
- For mod recommendations go read the pastebin or or browse the Hongfire forum.
- Some mods can be installed manually, but most come in the form of a .7z archive designed to work with the Wizzard, a mod manager for Illusion games.
- However the wizzard is known to be shit: it takes fucking forever to install stuff, appears to be frozen while it's working, doesn't properly uninstall mods, is generally unstable, etc.
- ''AA2Install:'' http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/447075
